After upgrading PC’s operating system from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1, people are getting many types of Run DLL errors. One of the most common error is “C:PROGRA~1COMMON~1Systemsysmenu.dll The specified module could not be found“. I also came across this problem after upgrading my computer’s operating system from Windows 8 to 8.1. Following are the simple steps to completely get rid of this type of Run DLL error.
Steps to fix sysmenu.dll error after Windows 8.1 upgrade:
Step 1: First of all download Autoruns.
Step 2: Open the downloaded file and run autoruns.exe from the file.
Step 3: Once scanning is finished, go to Scheduled Tasks tab from the given tabs.
Step 4: In “Scheduled Tasks” find the yellow highlighted image paths that ends with sysmenu.dll. Once you find them, right click and delete them.
Step 5: Similarly find any yellow highlighted image paths that ends with sysmenu.dll in “Everything” tab and delete them too. If its not there in “Everything” tab then just ignore this step.
(While you delete these image paths, please make sure that you are not deleting any other image paths or else there will be a trouble in starting your PC.)
Step 6: Now just restart your computer and wait for five minutes. After waiting if you don’t find any sysmenu.dll errors then you have successfully removed the errors.
